
Start Out Safe
- Get an OK from your doctor or healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program.
- If you exercise outdoors, pick a safe area, dress for the weather, and make sure cars see you.
- Make sure you have proper fitting shoes, find smooth surfaces to walk on, and watch out for wet or icy sidewalks.
- Drink plenty of water before, during and after.
- Stop exercising if you feel unusual discomfort, chest pain, dizziness, nausea, headache or muscle cramps.
